I have a 2000 rodeo 3.2 6 cylinder. I have been getting a check engine light along with a low fuel light. Took to Autozone Scanner gave a code that corresponded with fuel sending unit . It my understanding that the whole fuel pump needs to be replaced.

What would cause the fsu to give such erratic readings. Can it be repaired on current pump. I have read other posts that say dropping the fuel tank is simple. I have also read that replacing with new pump causes additional problems. Like the computer doesn't recognized the new pump.

Any information that could help is greatly appreciated. Photos help allot as well
