Hi,
I have been researching the process the swapping out the 3.5 liter in my '98 Trooper that has gone bad, and replacing it with a chevy/GM engine.
I was given a link to a site that describes the compatibility of this engine swap.
I would love to hear from anyone who has done this, or may have some more info...

I don't think I've ever seen anyone doing engine swaps to a Gen II Trooper, although quite a few different powerplants have been mated up to Gen I Troops including GM HT 3.4, SBC V8, Caddy V8.

It sure would be interesting to see. You might have quite a challenge on your hands, what with OBD-II emissions controls and all. You'd probably want to stick with an OBD-II compliant GM powerplant, the 3800 comes to mind. Or one of the OHC V8's.
