99 amigo when it rains heavy and im driving in it, from 2nd into 3rd it bangs . this is an automatic transmission when i shut off the truck and let it sit and cool down .. no problems. a loud clunk like driveshaft is slapping back. wierd. anyone else experience this?

many isuzu's have a slip-joint drive shaft , the grease goes away , i regrease mine with marine grease , if its the slip-joint it will clunk when you change gears p>r, r>d , you will hear it clunk.

if thats the problem just drop the drive shaft and seperate it and repack the splines. mark the u-joints to get it back as it was.
