'85 Trooper in Tacoma for $300: https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/4829905953.html Would make a good repower project, not a lot of these kicking around anymore!

'89 SE 4-cyl with water in the oil, could be bad head or block (or maybe just a head gasket!). Has some body damage to pssgr fender/hood, but otherwise looks pretty straight. SE models have a nice trim level including special fabric on the seats, these are getting fewer and farther between as well!

looks like an 89 RS in pretty rough shape, listed for $800...ad states auto V6, but it's definitely a 2 door (edit: meaning RS and those only came in 4cyl). Seller says going to scrapper after Jan 5th, someone could probably get it for next to nothing if they can act fast...
If this was closer to me, I would very likely grab it... ah well.

I'd MUCH rather have that auto than the POS that came behind the V6's. That one is a solid unit. Plus if you decide to SAS in the future, it's gives you more front driveshaft length than the MUA5 does, so you can get some decent suspension movement without binding the joints ;) I think the low range might be deeper in the tcase behind that auto, too, giving you a better stock crawl ratio. Pep up the 4 cyl and it won't be too much of a slug, esp compared to the heavier 4 door rigs.

The rust is horrible. The wheel wells patched with spray insulation foam  I like 3.4 and my MUA5, I am happy with.

cheers

1986 Turbo Diesel Trooper in MD for $3500. It's been on CL before and I think the price is lower now.

The youtube video location is Belgium that is embedded in the Craigslist offer so approach this with some caution.I sent the guy an email verifying the locale so this might be one of those "Send me the $$ and I'll ship it to you. Honest... really, I will, AND my sister thinks you're cute."
