My 90 Trooper, 2.6, 250K, grinds when I try to put it in reverse. The clutch and hydraulic system are good. The transmission shop said the problem is the bushing on the clutch pedal is worn and I need a new pedal or maybe just the bushing. Has anyone had this problem and how did you fix it?

my reverse grinds if I dont wait long enough to engage it... in some transmissions its normal, specially when running light weight oil. Remember reverse doesn't have synchros because you're suppose to be at full stop to engage it. what I do if Im in a hurry I go to 4th first and then I go to reverse, that way I wont grind the gears

You should be able to adjust you clutch rod down at the pedal make it a little bit longer to push just a bit more and your grinding should go away.
