I bought the intake last year, and I've discovered that, without a heat shield, the intake loses it's effectiveness quickly. Has anyone made a heat shield, or have any suggestions for one? Pics would be great thanks!

Here's a link to the intake and pic

lol, buy some body tin, some tin snips, and make a box. I doubt your going to find anything actually made for the vehicle. Paint the box afterwords to make it look pretty.

Yeah I had thought of that...I know I'm not gonna be able to find anything pre made, just need ideas...
What about this? I wonder if I can find one that's the right size...

But someone else on this forum must have the same intake! Am I the only one to have noticed this problem?

The neighbors were frowning at me, so I took the trash can back to the truck to put the skeptics to rest:
HAHAHAHAHHAHA

Otherwise, that looks pretty damn good to me. Easier than the tin box idea and more pleasing to the eye than the aluminum foil idea.

That's a sweet idea with the rubbermaid box. You could also get some metal sheets from home depot and cut yourself a box with that and use some L-brackets to hold it in place

Just put mine in last week with a 90 degree aluminum piece to get it closer to the fender opening the box breathed through, then added a generic heat shield, like so:

RUbbermaid container is a great idea, I may fashion an old splashguard for further shielding soon, someone here has done that can't remember but a plastic barrier of some sort would really help
