Your Trooper is beautiful.
We did a cruddy 5 hours, 25 minutes. We would have done much less, about 4 hours, but i had to wait for my brother in law. It was three of us, a friend, bro-in-law and me. Our friend and I did the first 25 miles in one hour, but with no hills. At that pace, we would have done 3 hours total.cronk said:Good looking Trooper and Bike! Look like a mated pair.
What was your time in the race?
Orly? Where can i get more info on this? It's in here in California?Metal88 said:you should bring your troop and your bike to the amgen tour in solvang![]()
Hey John. Thanks for the great comments. I did pretty good on the ride. We did 5.25 hrs. But could have done it in 4 at a good speed. My brother in law doesn't have much of a long distance riding condition, he stopped several times to rest. I did the first 25 miles in an hour, which ment i left him behind. I waited for him after the big hill (La Mission). IT WAS TOUGH! I walked it for about 5 minutes, my leg was cramping up :lol:govno90 said:i said many times before how beautiful your trooper is, so i won't go into that. i will however comment about the rosarito/ensenada ride. how did you do? was this your first time? those rides are definately some of the best rides i've done. good organization and the people along the route are just fantastic. they are all so happy for us to be there. did you make it up the hill without stopping? one thing about your bike. where did you get your wheels from? i've seen something simular on ebay, but they were from china. the ebay ones look nice, but i don't know how they perform.
superflea, if you live in BC, where?
sorry for all the questions, but if you don't ask, you won't know.
cheers, john
thanks for getting back to me about those wheels.SuperFlea said:^^ Thanks buddy!

Yes, the ride organizers are awesome. They have everything covered. 5 checkpoints with water and poweraid. Medical staff. And several places to stop for some grub. Oh, and the bystanders! They rock too, and the kids all want you to throw candy at them.
I do live in Baja, Tecate to be exact. Right under Campo, Ca. I manage a campground here.(we used to be a KOA)
The wheels are Teny wheels, made in Taiwan. Good wheels, but a bit heavy for rides like these. And the crafstmanship is "ok" could be way better. I love them though, i don't mind the weight. I did get them from e-Bay. There's a couple of on-line places to get them, but were way cheaper there. Shipping was mega fast. About 4 days.
