You know how your battery cleaner tool usually cleans the posts once or twice, then starts getting harder to get good clean posts with ?

Well, I figured out a cure, more than 20 years ago. Been doing it ever since.

I was cleaning a battery at Brad's shop, using his cleaning tool, and I showed him the mod.

The mod is very simple... A hose clamp.

You use a clamp that easily slips over the cleaner.

Then tighten only until barely snug.

This keeps the 'blade' of the cleaner in place, instead of letting it bend outwards, like they do, over time.

Try it. You'll like it. And you'll never have to buy another battery post cleaner again...

I've always used a brush-type cleaner rather than the blade-type. Takes a few more turns but it always works as the posts shrink.
