I have an '89 trooper with the straight 4, manual transmission, and auto locking hubs. I am looking for auto lockers and from reading many of the post here and else where I am pretty set on Aussie lockers. The problem is I don't know which ones to get and where to get them. I am pretty sure that I have the 12 bolt rear and 10 bolt front. I would really like to get corresponding part no and where to order them other brand suggestions will also be nice. Also I have heard lots of mention about using manual hubs when using a Aussie locker in the front is that absolutely necessary or just better.

Are these the ones i need.

I can never remember which year trooper had the oddball diffs so dont know if yours is one of them. Call Matt at Independent4x before ordering and he will know for sure so you end up with the right parts.

Manual hubs are just better all around then auto hubs. But with a front locker you want manual ones because the locker will increase your turning radius a lot. Sometimes you will need to unlock one hub to make tight turns.

87 and up has the 10 bolt front and the 12 bolt rear. As far as the front locker I would say manual hubs are the way to go, less moving parts means less ware.
