The alarm in the 96 Trooper I bought is disabled. Is there a problem with these alarms for it to be disabled

I was wondering if I can get a new remote alarm installed since the doors are electric.

I know nothing about alarms or about the Trooper since today is my first day owning it..

Yes, you can use an aftermarket alarm with those electric locks. If the factory alarm is disabled, then half of the work is already done. The wiring can be tricky with the factory alarm for the DIYer. A competitent shop should have no problem, and if you are electrically inclined, you shouldn't either.
