93 Isuzu pickup Weber swap

489 Views 5 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  lowzone
the carburetor on my pickup truck took a dump on me. Thinking about swapping to the Weber over doing a rebuild. I’m running the stock 2.3l 4zd1… Any input on pros/cons or installation would be appreciate. 🤙🤙

i loved mine when i had it on my 2.3L 92 longbed. it was a PIA to tune to get it just right, so it wasnt running lean and dieseling when warm out. Then in NJ, winter......had to readjust it slightly as it hated cold days. other than an occasional adjustment, i got great fuel economy, and the throttle response is INSTANT...even for the 92 hp motor. You feel the difference with the weber over stock. See the Cali plate....you WILL not pass SMOG. besides that, worth the costs!!!

Have one on my 2.6, and like it really well. You'll want the progressive 32/36 one. There are some Chinese knock-offs being sold on e-bay. The redline webers are made in Spain, and that's the one you'll want. They come with manual or auto chokes. Mine's a manual and it wasn't a problem installing the choke cable. And you'll need the carb to manifold adaptor.

awesome. You got a link for the adapter plate by chance? and yeah I’m looking at a 32/36 from redline directly. Right now I’m losing gas in the first barrel. And figured its time for an upgrade rather than a rebuild. 🤙

Thank you. Right now I’m losing gas in the first barrel and pretty much have replaced everything else over the past year. and i already don’t pass smog because of the fuel cell. So I figured Weber is the way to go. Just a bit hesitant as I’m definitely not a professional mechanic. Haha

i am a fellow lowrider....couple of my isuzus i have (Silver longbed was sold and yes thats a Mazdarossa kit on a 94 Pickup) and built, sold and bought back over the years. The silver one had the weber and it was just an amazing carb upgrade. you will actually notice the difference in the performance.
