I trimmed the fenders only because I wanted to keep a low center of gravity. I've only have a 2" lift and don't want any more. They only rub at the back of the front wheel wells on full stuff and this was so little that a couple whacks from a BFH took care of that.
BFH, sawzall and a welder. The first three tool I would reccomend to anyone after the basics. (wrences, sockets etc.)
I haven't heard anything good about Thornbirds. But then I've only heard 1 or 2 people that ran them.
Lots o tread. Room for grooving if you wanted a little more aggressive.
here's a small vid from one of our runs. no shot of the Trooper accept the headrest cam.

used one from an old FJS (full size Jeep) it was 10 1/2" to wide so I cut the center upright and 5 1/4" iether side out and welded back together.

Here's new pics of her in action

Love the welded rear. Don't do a fozzy locker by just welding the vallies in the spider gears. It's not verry strong this way although it does allow a little play. Weld the gears solid to themselves, basically creating a spool. I've even seen a brick of steel placed betweed the gears and the whole thing welded solid.

solid would look like this

resized those last three shots of the Trooper. Sorry didn't know they were that large.
That's exactly what I mean. Looks like a solid setup. Never thought of it when I had mine done. If I have any troubles I'll prolly do it solid like that.
Ripped a sidewall yeasterday. :( Dam!

Just the standard chirping around corners but a little extra air will take care of that.
Put some rails on my rock sliders today. Here's what they look like.

Funny I was thinking the same but I put them on so when I sas and get new doors they'll remain straight. But then again I've seen me drive. I'll just hit thing that are higher off the ground :p
