Got all the glass tinted, including a state legal windshield tint.

And to go with the tint I got a new four season blower motor to replace my factory one from 86.
The holes didnt line up so I had to drill new ones. works great and blows hard.
Fairly simple install other than those connectors being buried in the dash.

Looking good! The tint makes a huge difference in the summer time in these rolling greenhouses.

Looks really nice. Good write-up on the blower motor. Yes, the brief cool down is welcome to me as my Trooper doesn't have air. Ever get the tail light lens sorted out. I got one from Mike (gruff54) here on the forum.

yeah, theyre sending me another set which im sure itll take another 4-5 weeks to arrive.
Im gonna glue these ones together because even broken they still look better than my current ones.
If you plan on tackling a blower motor change then id recommend having a good pair of c clip pliers to get the clip that holds the fan blade on, and cutting the wires coming out of the old motor off at the unit itself. I spliced some connectors on to their ends so that I could dig around in the dash to connect the oem plugs without having to deal with the fan assembly hanging in my face.

Drove out to waco again to hit up BYOT since they are apparently one of the only yards near DFW that gets first gens. Someone got to it before me and from the looks of it just tore things apart rather than take out bolts.
The hinges all popped, and the vent window seals were trashed like always.
They also have a non-running 1986 for sale for $1800, ill be heading back out there once it hits the yard to harvest it's pristine interior.
I took the front seats and the factory mudflaps/brackets. they need to be cleaned and straightened up but ive wanted a set for a while now.

The seats in that truck were in good enough condition that I decided to go ahead and put them in my truck, I wish I had found a nice set like this sooner as the armrest are better than that ford center console could ever hope to be. It's cupholders are still A+ tho. The seats are also more supportive and comfortable all around. Just a general improvement over the earlier seats.
I'm trying to locate a new base for the driver seat, and I am currently trying to decide which seat covers to get for them. They are in good condition but the gray and tan clash.
Here are some before and after photos of cleaning them, Ill go back over them with my carpet cleaner one more time but they came out pretty good for a first pass.
Im also planning on re-foaming the armrest as right now its been worn down prettty good.

Nice. Your right about Gen. one's around the Dallas area. To bad that one doesn't have the G80 option. I would really like to find one in a yard with that option. Is that yard in Waco, or just close by.

It’s technically elm mott, it’s jsut barely north of Waco.
i learned my lesson from my Suzuki swift days. Never know when they are going to dry up. Geo metros dried up all at once about 2 years ago and they rarely hit the yards now days. Even nationwide. So when a trooper pops up that I can drive to then I’m gonna go check it out.

Small, but i learned that the rear door light switch is the same for all the first gens, they look like theyll work for the 84-86 front door switches as well.
Now my back light turns on automatically finally! not that it provides much light lol
Been a productive weekend, I hope to have the mudflap brackets straightened and cleaned up so i can install them later this week.

Snagged a set of oem mudflap from the Waco yard’s trooper. I spent the better part of Sunday wire brushing them down to get the surface rust off then painting them black.
i somehow managed to lose or misplace the front right one so if anyone has one for sale I’d love to buy it.
i still need to get some more replacement hardware to replace the current rusty bolts but this will do for now.

Went out to Waco again since they finally moved their 86 that was for sale forever to the yard. Grabbed a bunch of interior stuff, as well as the grill. Managed to leave the headlight buckets there as well as the tan cargo cover mounts due to me starting to heat stroke out lmao.

On my way back I met itsmehb and he supplied me with a set of mudflaps since I managed to lose the front right one.
I also got to see his beautiful RS.
Wire brushed the bracket and installed it. Ill cut new mud flaps for it one day but for now these will do.

I also installed a window regulator that I got from the yard, mine was notchy and had trouble staying up.

After that I installed the sun visors and clip that holds them secure to the mirror that I got from the yard.

Scored some Ventshades, I've wanted a set of these tacky things for a long long time. Stumbled upon a NOS set on ebay. they definitely take some finagling to get to fit but overall Im please with them

Step 1: acquire tacky ventshades

Step 2: carefully CAREFULY pull out window weather-stripping
My driver side one is a little torn sadly. Thankfully isuzupartscenter says they're still available so I have set on order.

Step 3: slide vent shade in, position clip, and then bend the clip, youll probably hear a snap when it goes over the lip of the frame.

Found some more Thailand lights. These ones have the cheapest interiors I've ever seen. Light bleeds from one color to the other. This could be fixed with some gaskets. But the wiring isn't compatible with the trooper since these are technically for a truck so I guess they're slightly different. It'd a shame because the fitment is amazing on the actual truck. The lenses themselves look great, same as the other set where it's missing the reflector. I was going to just use the lenses but their bolt holes are slightly different meaning I'll have to hunt down some longer bolts for them. For $60 I'm not too upset.

After that I took apart my arm rest as I was tired if hitting bare steel with my elbow.
I took the pad off, cut it along the red line and flipped it over. I also had to cut a piece off the top of the pad to swap to the bottom
(For when I flipped it so the bottom is now the top) because the top of the pad extends a little further than the bottom. I'm pretty pleased with this $0 cost mod.

And finally I do curbside pickup a lot from grocery stores so I had to add this little bit of tape to help people see the lever to pull.

Any pics of the cappuccino? Love those little things
You called a cappuccino "little"! Most people think they come in 3 sizes ("tall", "grande", and "venti") - NONE of which are actually cappuccinos, but are all actually cafe lattes.

Since you asked for a pic, here's one of mine.

Got the most important part in for the next step of the build.
2.3 isn't worth rebuilding so it's 4JB1T time

For that 2 door skinny drivetrain I prefer C223T
4JB1T's 1st Gen Trooper use the bigger and stronger frame and drivetrain, just like the V6 1st Gen
