I'm having a hard time finding what I need for parts re: wheels that aren't tacoed, and I can find 5 lug wheels everywhere for dirt cheap. I'd like to expand my choices by putting on a 6 lug to 5 lug wheel adapter. I drive two first gens, an 88 2.6L and a 91 2.8L. So, any help on where to find the aformentioned adapters and some insight in what I should be looking for in adapters would be greatly appreciated.

You also need to know the spacing. Not all 5 lug designs will fit.
Make sure you know the spacing!! that you want.

Not only that but there should be tons of rims that will fit a 6 lug 5.5"

Also the later generations have a 38mm offset. If you want the same
"tucked in" look with your new rims your going to have to add the spacer
thickness. I think this is usually an 1" (25mm). You will have to add that
to your offest. So ~63mm offset.

6 lug wheels are very common Toyota, Chevy, Jeep, Nissan, and others have the same lug pattern. The only odd ball 6 lug I can think of is Dodge Dakota / Durango, they are too small a pattern to fit.

We found a nice set of six lugs that the dealer had special ordered for a GM guy -- who didn't come through on them. So we got a nice package for a reasonable amount.

I don't think I'd want the adapters. Couldn't stand knowing I was "one lug short". Sorry, couldn't help it.

I agree, with the cost of a quality adapter you can get into a really nice set of wheels that will fit just as you are.

I wouldn't want to have to worry about two sets of lugs per wheel. :shock:
