I have a 1991 Isuzu trooper with a 2.8l engine. The chassis is pretty much stock PO replaced motor and tranny. I put an s10 Blazer body on it lifted 9in off the frame running 35x12.50x15's. Is it possible to swap the 4l30e tranny out for the aw30-80le tranny? Like will the TCM be able to talk to it and such? Or should I stay with the stock tranny. And I don't want to go manual BTW. Or what would you recommend I should run for a transmission that would hold up. Old tranny got hot and burned up after the front brakes locked up on me 20 miles from the house.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. I may have to swap the motor to the 350 I have in my 88 k1500 just to make all this come together a little smoother. And I was just looking for a cheap temporary solution till I can get up some money for the msd stand alone tranny control. It's like 700 and I was gonna get a monster rebuilt transmission to throw in it probably a 4l60e might go with a 700r4 though haven't decided yet.
