If you'll note on this last link that the conclusion is that most if not all '92 and up V6 'ZuZu tranny's have a dual-pattern on them, one of which corresponds to the same bolt patttern as a GM 60 Deg FWD V6. Any number of GM V6's and V8's share this bolt pattern, opening up a lot of transplant possibilities.
Unfortunately not the 4.3 Vortec which has the old standard 90 deg SBC V8 bellhousing pattern. Wouln't fit without lots of swapping of parts, tranny's, etc.
Not saying that the other would be easy, but having something bolt up to the existing tranny does save a whole ton of R&D.
