I have a '99 Trooper I am in the process of lifting with a set of OME rear springs and turning the t-bars to match with a ball jt flip. I know a lot of troopers with this lift are running 285/75/16s with no problems, but I recently saw a Trooper running 305s on stock rims. I didn't have an opportunity to ask the owner if he had any problems with rubbing, or unusual tire wear due to the narrow rims. If anyone is running 305s I would be appreciate any feedback. I will need to buy tires in the next couple of weeks.

several are running them OK. Jim Shrake (www.shrockworks.com) has them on EOM wheels. I have 33/12.5/15s on duifferent rims w/ a bit of rubbing. I saw a trooper today w/ 315/75/16s. I'll load pics later.

I think you are specifying 305/70/16? And not 305/75/16. The 70 will be a tad shorter

Tire calculator spits out:

305/75/16 305/70/16 285/75/16
sidewall height 9.01 8.41 8.42
width 12.01 12.01 11.22
diameter 34.01 32.81 32.83

It looks like the 305/70/16 is the height of a 285, and the width of a 305. cool beans!

the difference between a 285/75/16 and a 305/70/16 is only the width is a little more on the 305- 11.22 to 12.01
