Hi. New member here; I'm impressed by all the experience and knowledge that the members of this forum make available to others. I was hoping one of you gearheads or Zu wrenchs can answer this question. My buddy really likes my 2002 TOD trooper, and wants to get one. However , he doesn't think he needs 4wd;he wants to get a 2wd but with limited slip differential. Anyone out there have or know if they even made any in this configuration? My owner's manual says that G80 on the data plate on the firewall indicates LSD.

I don't think so.

The cost between a 2wd to 2wd Trooper is not much. Try to convince him to get the 4wd.

I was told by a master Isuzu tech that all 98.5+ Troopers with the modified 12-bolt came with a LSD in the rear axle. It should be easy enough to check when he's looking at them.

I know of one 2wd 2001 S models sold in FL that did not come w/ a LSD. His plate lacks G80 designantion, and no sticker for LSD additive. Also, 2001 dealer guide lists LSD as n/a on 2wd S models. Came standard on 2wd LS and limited models.

Good to know. I wonder if the 2wd Troopers got the modified 12-bolt or the classic style. Isuzu still had the classic 12-bolt then, as they used it in the Vehicross.
