yes i know, its been posted a million times but i cant seem to find what im looking for. 98 amigo 2.2 gasser, my timing belt broke, bent valves, and now im fixing it, got the new belt, idlers and tensioner on, timing marks set, then i set the tension as per the manual, but wen i rotate the engine by hand the tensioner needle moves, then i get slack in the long side of the belt, if I move the tension to its tightest spot (adjuster pointing to the 1 o'clock position) and rotated the engine, everything stays tight... should i leave it there? the needle points off the marks now and is completely irrelevant.
any help is appreciated, thanks.
