Several months ago my Amigo took a dump on me while driving down the road. It just quit moving and wouldn't go forward ... pressing the gas just revved it up, but it wouldn't move...almost as if the transmission went out. I pulled off to the side of the road and shut it off. It would turn over, but wouldn't start. Called the wife and came back a couple hours later with the trailer. Got in and it started right up, but still wouldn't move forward ... would go backwards, but not forward. A few minutes of this and it wouldn't go in either direction.

Fast forward several months ... finally went out to the garage to see what I could figure out and now it won't start again. It cranks and cranks and cranks but won't fire.

This sound familiar to anybody before I start tearing into it?

Sounds just like a tranny died to me. The no start ?? I'm not sure. I assume it's got gas and spark?

Turned out to be a bad timing belt. Mechanic replaced the timing belt, the tensioners and the water pump while he was at it... $850 later and it's running just fine now.
