Hey everyone! Well my intention here is to try and document the changes that I will be making on my 1995 Trooper. I already did an intro but figured this would be better suited here. Its a base model with 93k miles and a 5sp. Previous owner didnt do any mods and kept it pretty good condition.

Here she is as I got her:

And here she is a few weeks later when I traded her stock wheels(with 265/70/16 all terrains) for these. Mb Motoring 16x8 with 265/75/16 Toyo's:

Looks clean, I like red on a Trooper! The new shoes gives it some attitude, looking forward to seeing your further adventures.

Well I finally got my lift springs on and torsion bars cranked. WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! Before the car would feel like its tipping over in turns and if you brake too hard then the front would dive really hard. Now it feels more planted and in control. I also finally got around to replacing two broken front wheel studs as well. The impact screwdriver is a must and saved my butt big time. Here is how she looks now. Up next will be window tint, new tires and painting the wheels black.

Interesting, I thought all 95s had fender flares when they went to the wider track. Are you in the US?

Yes I am in the US. I actually wish that it had the fender flares so I'm on the lookout for some either on craigslist or junkyard.

Well I got some progress done this weekend. My bday came a bit early this year so I was able to order the Surco roof rack mounts and a roof top basket. Plus I finally got my windows tinted 50% front and 20% rear. I also got around to trying out some LED headlight bulbs from ebay. They work better then the upgraded Sylvania Xtravision bulb. The low beam cutoff is decent but high beam doesnt have much of a cutoff like the halogens but they have come along way since the original LED headlight bulbs first came out.

Windows tinted.

Looks like the LED high beams spread out much more in every direction. I'm wondering if the spread beam will translate to shorter distance visible down the road. I'm guessing oncoming drivers will be quick to let you know if you've forgotten to dim the high beams! Please let us know your impressions once you drive with them for a few nights. What brand are the LED bulbs?

PS What does the ID plate in the driver's side doorjamb show for a build date?

Really looks good. I know black wheels are the rage now, and it's an individual choice, but gotta tell you, it is sure nice as it sits. And yes, to fender flares if you can find them.

I will definitely post my impression once I get some night driving in. These are the ones that I bought. They're ebay ones so not really branded. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2xPHI-ZES-HB1-9 ... Rz&vxp=mtr

The wheels are really badly pitted so they either need a weeks work to sand and polish everything out or I am now considering going with a desert sand theme with the car so I would consider painting them desert sand with a black lip. Something similar to these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/usw- ... fgodXQgBmQ

I dedided to see the condition of my stereo system this weekend. The previous owner upgraded the cd player to a nice Kenwood bluetooth one but when I took off the front speakers grills, the speakers were just destroyed. the rears surprisingly are still in one piece. I massaged a set of left over 6.5" Kicker component speakers into the front and it was a night and day difference in sound. Didnt have any speakers for the back so Ill need to go get some but at least the rears speakers still function. Well here are what mine looked like:

Hi e30dean, Nice Trooper, I just bought the exact same model couple weeks ago, 95' 5sp, same color, but 191K miles and many oil leaks, broken glass and pealing paint. We might be from the same region as well, I'm from east bay.

I'll be going on a similar route, already got 265/75/r16 mud tires, mounting this weekend, and probably a lift in the near future but I also have lots of boring work to do like ball joints, tie rods, cv boots, oil leaks, windshield will be done next week, looks like timing belt wasn't done on time, or possibly ever...
My trooper was definitely neglected the last 10 years.

Keep us posted on your progress.

Nice build!! I got my 95 back on the road about 6 months ago. It's great to see another Trooper getting cleaned up, modded, and enjoyed. Thanks for posting your progress!

Thanks for everyone's support. I'm loving the trooper. This week I was able to get some new tires put on. Went with some Thunderer Trac Grip MT 285/75/16 primarily because of cost and tread design. Tires look great but have some fitment issues with the aftermarket mud flaps. I also plastidipped the rims black afterwards.

Question. Did you buy the rack new for $210 ? I'm looking for one to put on my truck. Any change you remember what site you found it on?

I bought everything on eBay separately. The mounts were Surco TR100 for $70, rack was 64" universal carrier basket for $120 and 54" universal cross bars were $25. So $215 actually and that is with shipping. I did have to drill some holes in the cross bars to bolt them to the surco mounts.
