Well I think it is....

On the way home today on the interstate I started hearing some clicking behind the dash. All the lights on the dash came on. Brake, Gas, Batt, O2, etc...

Volts were below 12 about 1/8", so maybe 11 or 10.5 Volts?

Anyway, the truck just turned 170,000 miles and its definately the original Alternator. Truck still runs under its own power for now but I doubt for long. Had the local shop come get it, and they will look at it in the AM.

Don't have time to mess with it as wife is working nights and I have both our boys...3yrs and 3mos, so I'm not working on anything these days... .

Sure sounds like it, also, depending on how long it's been since a battery's been replace, you might want to think about doing it at the same time...

I know your time is limited - but whichever way you go - the alt. is coming off.

If you have the orig - you have the best ever made for your Vehicle.

Find a good auto electrical shop in your area - pull alt - take to shop - reinstall.
