I have a VERY spartan example with only 4 options listed below the vin on the driver side firewall.
NB7 (cali emissions, I'm in Louisiana), DH6 Sunvisor w vanity (because I'm oh so fancy), C60 a/c with man cont, and 86m (60amp alt). My paint code is 639 (clipper blue met) but for some reason I have gray met bumpers but not flares or rockers, also dont have a two-tone paint code. Assembly line snafu? Also where do I find the code for rear end type and gearing?

Your gearing would be 4.77 's ,I 'think, rear axle open or with g80 code limited slip diff.

Thanks for the reply, I was figuring I'd have the 4.77s as well since I have a staggering 130hp! Unfortunately I know I don't have the G80. I high centered and one wheel was screaming away.

Confirmed I have 4.77s, axle still has a tab on it. That means I have a D44 right?

Quick question, my trooper shows "RMD -A/T AISIN" for the tranny. What is the difference between it and the "RMQ -A/T THM" tranny?

88-91 I4 Troopers came with an Aisin 30-80LE automatic transmission, also identified as A340H
90-02 V6 Troopers have a GM 4L30e Turbo Hydra-matic (THM) automatic transmission
What year is your truck?

So this might be a dumb question but what are the bracketed letters next to some of the codes' description. For example I have option code RBB and there are quite a few but with different letters

Not sure what they are officially called, but I have seen the same two letter codes used in other service documentation.
Here are the codes from the 1999-2002 Workshop Manual.

Trooper [UX]
Rodeo [UE]
Rodeo Sport [UA]
Amigo [UA]
Axiom [UP]
Vehicross [VX]
